been working with lots of things

August 3rd, 2009

Google wave, citiesxl beta, google chrome, google docs, google stuff, more googles, real life work, studying, doing lots of other things.
But besides all that fun stuff I guess I haven’t actually been working on Heatmap Studio or BeadHelper, which isn’t all that bad cause it seems like theres about 10 people using both combined :-P Maybe I’ll keep up work on them but I’m just not sure right now! I’m looking for other projects to do.

Heatmap Studio Google Earth (KMZ) examples!

June 22nd, 2009

Hi all! Just wanted to give some great examples on what you can do with the new Google Earth export feature of Heatmap studio! Below are some example KMZ files. All you need is Google Earth, once you download and unzip the KMZ files you can open them directly with Google Earth and it will fly in and show you the heatmap!

EX1: Europe Earthquake Map with High Decay. (Decay spreads the map out over a smaller area)

EX2: Japan Earthquake Map with +25 threshold(The more +threshold the less the value has to be to reach the top of your heatmap coloring scale. Meaning if you have data on a scale from 1 – 10, 1 being blue and 10 being red and you set your threshold to +100, this will make 1 be red as well as 10 and everything in between. The threshold is a percentage based modifier)

EX3: USA – Alaska Earthquake Map – High Decay

EX4: USA – California Earthquake Map

EX5: USA – Ann Arbor Michigan crime data

New Heatmap Studio Version Released!

June 19th, 2009

The new BETA version of heatmap studio is now up! v0.71 adds the ability to export your Google Maps Heatmap to a stand alone Google Earth KMZ file! It also allows you to have up to a level 50 decay cycle (which can slow down heatmap generation so be careful!). A few crashes have been fixed as well!

I’m still sorry!

June 17th, 2009

It’s still be a good couple of days since any updates and I gotta say I’m wiped out! SOrry It’s been quite an extraoridnary busy couple of days here at work and on the life front. I’m still working to get the next heatmap studio version out ASAP, but I’m thinking I’ll skip the legend placement on the image until the next version to speed things along.
